Alloy 188, also known as HAYNES® 188, is a cobalt-based superalloy developed for very high temperatures and demanding oxidation environments.
The alloy combines excellent oxidation resistance, good strength at high temperatures and very good corrosion resistance in aggressive environments.
Alloy 188 is often used in gas turbines, the aerospace industry and industrial high-temperature applications where materials are exposed to extreme heat, oxidation and mechanical stress.
Alloy 188 is a cobalt-nickel-chromium-tungsten alloy that offers very good oxidation resistance at temperatures up to approximately 1100 °C.
The alloy is particularly appreciated in components where high temperature stability and good resistance to thermal fatigue are essential.
Alloy 188 offers very good oxidation resistance at temperatures up to approximately 1100 °C.
The alloy also has good corrosion resistance in many high-temperature environments and is often used in components exposed to both heat and chemical attack.
