Nickel Filler Metal 61 is a nickel-based welding material used for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and submerged arc welding (SAW) of Nickel 200 and Nickel 201.
The material is also used for surface coating and welding of steel where good corrosion resistance is required.
In submerged arc welding, the flux INCOFLUX® NT100 is often used. The reaction between titanium and carbon helps to maintain a low level of free carbon, making the filler metal suitable for welding Nickel 201.
Nickel Filler Metal 61 is a nickel-based filler metal developed for welding commercially pure nickel.
The weld metal exhibits good corrosion resistance, especially in alkaline environments.
Nickel Filler Metal 61 offers good corrosion resistance in a variety of environments, especially in alkaline solutions.
The weld metal maintains stable properties and is often used in chemical process environments where pure nickel is used.
