Alloy 926 is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel with molybdenum and nitrogen additions. These additions significantly improve resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, especially in chloride-containing environments.
Alloy 926 also offers excellent mechanical strength and good weldability, making it suitable for use in highly corrosive and demanding applications.
Alloy 926 is a super-austenitic stainless steel developed for highly aggressive corrosion environments. The combination of high nickel, chromium and molybdenum content provides very good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
The nitrogen in the alloy improves both mechanical strength and resistance to local corrosion in chloride-containing solutions.
Alloy 926 is an excellent choice for environments with high chloride levels and aggressive chemical exposure. The alloy offers very good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
It performs reliably in both oxidizing and reducing conditions and is therefore often used in the chemical industry, offshore environments and desalination systems.
