INCONEL Alloy 686 is a high-performance nickel-based alloy developed for extremely corrosive environments where very high resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking is required.
The alloy is a single-phase austenitic Ni-Cr-Mo-W alloy with very good chemical stability and excellent resistance to both oxidizing and reducing acids.
INCONEL 686 is often used in the chemical process industry, exhaust gas purification systems and marine environments where conventional materials do not provide sufficient corrosion resistance.
INCONEL Alloy 686 is a solid solution-hardened nickel-based alloy that offers very high corrosion resistance in aggressive environments.
The high content of chromium, molybdenum and tungsten provides very high protection against pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking.
INCONEL Alloy 686 offers exceptional corrosion resistance in very aggressive chemical environments.
The alloy is particularly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-rich environments and against acids such as sulfuric and phosphoric acid.
